The Sergio Motta Art and Technology Award was founded in 2008 with the aim of supporting Brazilians doing creative work in digital and electronic media Several fields of work have now been covered: visual arts, music, literature, dance, performance, interactive arts, art and science, and theoretical research too supplements the hybrid profile of work covered by our awards. Over the seven editions of the awards, there have been 2,250 entries and we have distributed almost one million Brazilian reais to 57 award winners and 23 grants for unpublished projects. The awards are made every two years (odd-number years). For the biennium 2009-2010, we are holding our eighth edition of the Award.
