The Sergio Motta award presents the on-line exhibition Dream Machines, conceived and curated by the artist Anaisa Franco, whom received an Honor Mention in the 6th edition of the Sergio Motta Awar in 2006.Dream Machines is a series of electronic sculptures composed by suspended broken up bodies that interconnect the sculptural matter with the digital in form of animations, videos and luminous intensities. The body is scattered to intensify the sensations of the limb and the digital images to visualize the unconscious thoughts of these sculptures. Therefore, their own imagination is created to work as an machinist and sensitive unconscious. The works were developed between 2007 and 2009 in specialized art and technology Institutions and Medialabs such as LabMIS, Mecad, Medialab Prado and Plymouth University. Anaisa accomplishes this curatorship selecting images from earlier works to the most recent especially to the Sergio Motta Award’s Channels Youtube, Flickr and Blog SMI.

The Sergio Motta Award presents the on-line exhibition STORM, curated by artist Luiz Duva, for the Flickr, You Tube an Blog channels. STORM begins with a series of images and videos of the English coast that denotes the confrontations with the unknown. The images were originally produced as part of a new installation, that has the same name of this exhibition. “These are images from the marine horizon that remind us of the emotional landscapes that were at first, presented as an audiovisual performance , that had as an objective to transcend the limits of the being and existence”, said the artist. STORM was conceived to be better visualized in a Slide Show format. The images of this work were accomplished by the Duva during his period as a resident artist at the Plymouth Arts Centre (UK) due to the prize conceived by Artist Links England and Brazil Program of the British Council and England Arts Council.

Sergio Motta Art and Technology Award presents one more on-line at our Flickr, You Tube and ISM blog channels. The exhibition GAMBIARRA was idealized by the artist Paulo Nenflídio, whose works combine visual arts, music, physics and technology. Gambiarra is the register of the artist’s creation process while in a six weeks residency in ASU Art Museum (Arizona). The first step of this process was a studio’s installation, within the area show, with machines, tools and several devices. Soon after, the artist built 3 sonorous sculptures and presented them together with the drawings of the project. The purpose was to approach the visiting public with a work in process, opening the possibility for them to watch the developments of the project and even to participating in its construction along with the artist. People could donate, as well, electronic junk to be recycled and used as part of the work.Students too were invited by the artist, to create drawings and installations within the theme “sound art and “gambiarra”. The results of this residency was exibihted during the period of 2 months till may 30th of 2009. For this on-line exibihtion , Nenflídio also produced 2 banners which are being showed in our You Tube and Blog channels.
